What to Expect in
Somatic Stress Release

Somatic Stress Release takes a body-centered approach to help you complete your stress cycle.

Access into this work usually involves bringing to mind a stressor and noticing how stress shows up in your body. Instead of talking about the problem, I will offer prompts to guide you in noticing what’s present, ways to mobilise the activation and tuning into what shifts. Your feedback will shape how the session evolves.

Sessions often include:

  • Noticing how your nervous system feels at the start and setting an intention for the session.

  • Getting to know what helps you feel safe and grounded in your body.

  • Guided exercises to tune into your inner landscape and understand how stress shows up.

  • Gentle movement and sensory explorations to access your body story.

  • Personalised techniques to release tension, restore energy, or build resilience.

  • Regular pauses to reflect on how your body is responding and integrate the experience.

  • Time at the end to discuss what you’ve learned and how to apply it to your daily life.

  • Not every session will look the same. We work with your body’s needs in the moment and move at a pace that feels right for you.

Sessions do not involve:

  • Diagnosis or treatment of mental health or medical conditions

  • There is no pushing for emotional release or catharsis— we focus on helping you build a sense of safety and ability to regulate.

  • This is not a crisis service for emergencies or acute mental health situations.

How to Get the Most From Your Session

  • Stay open and curious—your body holds valuable information.

  • Trust your body’s signals; there’s no right or wrong way to feel.

  • Share your feedback during the session, your input helps shape the process.

  • You’re in control. You can pause, slow down, or change direction anytime.

  • We’ll focus on small steps that feel manageable, so the tools you learn feel natural when you need them most.

  • Be gentle with yourself afterward—rest, nourish your body, and allow time for integration.
