Experiential Learning Program in Nervous System Regulation

Do you often feel tired but wired? Perhaps you struggle with overthinking, can't find rest or have noticed yourself falling ill frequently from feeling stressed. These are signals that your nervous system may be operating in overwhelm.

If you've been struggling to find advice or solutions that work, or find it hard to apply theory into practice, this workshop series is for you.

In this four-part experiential series, learn how to sense, understand, and guide your body's physiological processes of stress and recovery.

Rather than receiving generic advice on stress management, you'll learn how to identify personal strategies that help you regulate and expand resilience. You'll be informed with the latest research in neuroscience for nervous system regulation, integrating both bottom-up (body-centred somatic practices) and top-down (cognitive) strategies to help you respond to stress effectively.

Through experiential explorations, you'll learn how to study your own experiences with mindfulness. Feel change in the moment and gain tools to apply immediately into your life.

Experts who inform the concepts we share include Manuela Mischke-Reeds (Hakomi), Dr. Peter Levine (Somatic Experiencing), Dr Scott Lyons (Somatic Stress Release), Dr Dan Siegel (Window of Tolerance), Dr Stephen Porges (Polyvagal Theory).

What You'll Learn

This series provides practical education in:

  • Understanding your individual stress response patterns

  • Developing body awareness as a foundation for self-regulation

  • Creating and sensing safety within your nervous system

  • Building a personalised toolkit of resources that support your wellbeing

  • Understanding and completing natural stress response cycles

Who This Serves

This series is designed for individuals interested in:

  • Understanding stress from a body-based perspective

  • Developing practical skills for nervous system regulation

  • Learning evidence-based approaches to resilience building

  • Exploring alternatives to purely cognitive stress management methods

No previous experience with somatic practices is required. The content is suitable for anyone curious about the connection between body and mind.

4 PART SERIES

Participant Results

CW

"I am no longer afraid of stress. I now have tools and strategies to use effectively for my growth and healing."

Zoe

"This entire workshop provided huge breakthroughs for me.

Taking small steps and using titration and pendulation were certainly missing pieces for me. I’ve had a tendency to take on too much at once out of impatience, but this is much more effective."

Sarah

"I loved all the practical exercises, combined with the teaching about the window of tolerance. Theory and practice weaved together are such a powerful combination.

I found the pendulation exercise particularly powerful. Our exploration of the technique helped me to see just how effective it can be at helping to manage a stressor."

Ali Kin

"I’m now more gentle with myself.

I give my self time and space to feel. I'm less judgmental of myself and others. I know i have the tools to heal myself over time.

I value the community for healing, sense of belonging & sharing."

Anita

"I have a different framework to understand my sister. I noticed my thoughts spiralling in a worrying situation. A little more self awareness.

I valued the warmth and compassion of delivery, plus very clear and succinct explanations of ideas. Also enjoyed the practical/experiential."

BC

"The practical 'play' we did. It all made sense and consolidated the voyage of self discovery I've been doing on my own to deal with my trauma once and for all.

Learning about my window of tolerance and actually understanding I've had a very small one for so many years as I had never really dealt with anything."

NP

"I felt how quickly my nervous state changes. I previously thought of it as changeable but perhaps not with the speed shown by the guided story.  Made me realise how it’s changing all the time in micro-waves.

So useful to be guided and provided time to reflect on what works for me to move from fight, flight, freeze and how to process and move through in a healthy way."

VA

"I feel like I’m more gentle on myself, and my stresses. I’ve been perhaps more aware of rising stress. Notes are fantastic and so thorough.

Very experienced and genuine facilitator. It was both challenging and very rewarding working with Rach in her stress management workshop. Highly recommended."

MA

"The powerful impact of subtle shifts. I took away that this stress response cycle can be used an instance of alchemical work - transforming neural pathways activity."

Artboard 6 copy_edited.png

To be “well” is not to live in a state of perpetual safety and calm, but to move fluidly from a state of adversity, risk, adventure, or excitement, back to safety and calm, and out again. Stress is not bad for you; being stuck is bad for you.”
